Generally, we prepare the legal document, find the correct type of form or document for the particular filing, find the type of fees required (if any), find the appropriate department, agency and address for filing, find what supporting documents are required when filing the document, and in most cases we file it. For Example, Here is How We File Your DBA (1) We prepare the legal document, find the correct type of form or document for the particular filing, find the type of fees required, find the appropriate department, agency and address for filing, find what supporting documents are required when filing the document. (2) If required, we send our agent to you to notarize your DBA. (3) If required, we will perform a local or state level business name search to see if your trade name is available (in most cases we do the business name search anyway). (4) If required, we publish your trade name for 4 weeks in a legal newspaper, and (5) We mail you the certified copies so you can open a bank account. In some cases, we may fax your or scan and email you the filed, certified copies of your Trade Name Registration Certificate. (7) Finally, after the fictitious business name statement form is notarized, filed, mailed and legally published, we will file an officially, government certified copy of the proof of the dba certificate newspaper publication with appropriate government agency as required by law. In most States, regular registration filing takes 4-8 business days (e.g., California), but in some states it may take 10 -20 business days because the government processing takes longer - it is not our service that takes longer. Note that regardless of the document been filed, if the document is filed, and whether or not the government charges a fee, you are responsible for the full service fee we charge and the government fee we pay to file it, if any, even if filing time takes longer than stated here.
